Business professor speaks in Chile

LAWRENCE — Professor Kara Tan Bhala presented, "Ethics in Finance: Its Desolate History and its Fruitful Future," on June 5, in Santiago, Chile. The lecture is part of the Chile Summer Program 2012: Justice in the Americas and it's sponsored by the University of Heidelberg and the German Academic Exchange Service.

"My colleague, Professor James Cooper, set up the lecture," Tan Bhala said. "He is a professor at California Western School of Law in San Diego and director of the summer program."

Tan Bhala is a lecturer at the University of Kansas School of Business; director of the Finance Scholars Program; and president and founder of Seven Pillars Institute for Global Finance and Ethics.

Tan Bhala said the participants included, among others, investment and commercial bankers, leading scholars, and graduate students.
