The University of Kansas School of Business has been educating students and creating business leaders since 1924.

We combine a unique approach to learning with exceptional instruction. The Business School Experience (BSE) is a new endeavor by the school to prepare you for success in the classroom, the workforce and the professional world as a first-year student at the university. We take our students out of the classroom and place them in real-world situations, allowing them to apply academic knowledge to real business challenges. It’s an approach that transforms our students into business leaders.

Study abroad is a hallmark of the KU School of Business experience. We created the Institute for International Business (IIB) to coordinate and support the internationalization of students and faculty. We offer longstanding programs at Groupe ESC Clermont-Ferrand, France, and CIMBA in Italy, in addition to short-term programs at universities in India, China, Germany, Costa Rica and the Czech Republic.

We’re dedicated to continuing education through our master’s and doctoral program. We offer full-time and working professional master of business administration (MBA), master of accounting (MAcc), and a master’s degree in supply chain management and logistics designed for military officers assigned to Fort Leavenworth.

Our highly selective Ph.D. program fosters the capacity for effective teaching and original research through mastery of a chosen field of study, a thorough understanding of research methodology, the ability to communicate effectively and the motivation for continuing self-education.

KU is one of only 36 public universities in the prestigious Association of American Universities, a select group of universities chosen for the excellence of their research. At the School of Business, our academic reputation is driven by research. KU business faculty introduce new courses, programs and centers. They publish regularly in top academic journals and national media, and pursue research with a dedication that is not business as usual.

You’ll be able to build meaningful relationships with your professors and peers while learning through experience and practice. Our mentorship program is an invaluable tool to our students for professional development. It pairs alumni and other professionals with current undergraduate and MBA students in an effort to provide career advice and guidance as they prepare for life after college. We are proud of our strong alumni network. Some of the most powerful and influential business leaders have come from the School of Business. We pride ourselves on being a family.
