Business Career Plus Frequently Asked Questions:

Where can I download the app?

Simply search for the free “KU Business Career Plus” in the Apple or Google Play stores and download.

Which events should I attend?

We’ve categorized our fall events to help you prioritize opportunities that most align with your unique career goals and stage in the career development process. Use the tracks to determine which events are best for you. See the “Tracks” section to review detailed descriptions of our program tracks.

What is the recommended attire for career events?

For most events, everyday student casual attire is acceptable and encouraged - come as you are! Exceptions to this are noted in the event descriptions. Some events require business casual or professional attire.

Do I need to RSVP?

Yes! We recommend planning ahead and registering your participation via Eventbrite for events that you plan to attend.  In some instances, events have attendance caps and students not registered will unfortunately be turned away.  Your RSVP helps with our event planning and catering, and also allows us to provide event-specific details to registered attendees. There are a few “drop-in” events where no RSVP is needed. These are noted with the “Drop-In Event” track in the Business Career Plus mobile app.

If you are participating in Business Career Plus as part of the Business School Experience (Bus 110 or Bus 210), it is especially important for you to RSVP to reserve your spot at events. Plan ahead! It is not the responsibility of the Business Career Center to ensure availability at events late in the semester.

Is there an attendance policy if I RSVP?

Attendance is strictly enforced for mock interviews, company field trips and lunch and learn events. Students can cancel their participation simply by logging into their Eventbrite account, but communication is necessary out of respect for our employers’ time and to allow other students to participate. No shows for these events are subject to the Business Career Center No-Show policies. Please contact our office at if you need assistance cancelling your participation for any of the above-mentioned events.

How do I check in at events?

Business Career Services will use electronic check-in at events. We encourage you to memorize your KU student ID or have the information handy for efficient registration of your attendance.  When you arrive at Business Career Plus events, be prepared to check in at a kiosk. Records of your participation at events will be maintained in KU Career Connections.

Are there other apps that you recommend?

Yes! We strongly encourage you to also download the free “Careers by Symplicity” app in the Apple or Android stores. This app is a mobile or tablet version of KU Career Connections. This app will serve as the primary app for the Accounting and Business Career Fairs, allowing you to research employers and view event maps in advance. The Careers by Symplicity app will also enable you to apply for internships, full-time jobs and on-campus interviews.

What if I don’t have a Smart Phone?

Not to worry!  You can access a web version of our app here.
