The Power of Sport: A Conversation on Business, Race and Sports

The University of Kansas School of Business, the Langston Hughes Center and Kansas Athletics present “The Power of Sport: A Conversation on Business, Race and Sports.”

Claire Smith, a sports writer and ESPN news editor, will deliver the keynote address at the fourth annual event. The symposium also will feature a panel discussion with former KU athletes. This year's event is presented in conjunction with the celebration of the 50th season of intercollegiate women's athletics at KU.

6 p.m. — Interview with:

  • Lafayette Norwood, former KU basketball assistant coach
  • Darnell Valentine, KU All-American and former student-athlete

7 p.m. — Keynote address 

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Register to attend.
