Biography

Christian Hopkins, from Narragansett and Mi’kmaw (Mi’kmaq) Tribal Nations, is a business advisor for the KU Small Business Development Center. He attended Haskell Indian Nations University for his undergraduate degree in business administration and returned to Lawrence to attend KU where he received an MBA and Master of Science in Business Analytics.

Hopkins has an eclectic professional background with experience in archeology and carpentry to note a few. He works toward building entrepreneurship within Indigenous communities starting within the Narragansett tribal community. He is also passionate about financial literacy and sees entrepreneurship as a vehicle for financial education.  

Hopkins comes from an entrepreneurial background inspired by his grandfather; he is excited to work within Lawrence and surrounding communities, building relationships with existing entrepreneurs, and to encourage more entrepreneurs to pursue their passions.
