LAWRENCE — Jill Ellingson, professor of human resource management and Dana Anderson Research Fellow, has been named a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). The honor recognizes her distinguished contributions to the field, including her research on human resource management, individual differences and employment assessment.

The SIOP is a premier membership organization for professionals who practice and teach industrial and organizational psychology. It is a self-governed division within the American Psychological Association.

SIOP Fellows are selected from within the membership by a committee. Committee members evaluate nominations based on submitted materials that show outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the field of industrial and organizational psychology. Nominees’ work also must indicate a broad impact spanning audiences and stakeholder groups.

“I feel honored and grateful to have my work recognized in this way,” Ellingson said. “It is a privilege to join in fellowship with other accomplished scholars in the industrial and organizational psychology field.”

Ellingson joined the School of Business faculty in 2016. Her research has been recognized previously by the SIOP Foundation and has been published in leading journals. Ellingson’s edited book “Autonomous Learning in the Workplace” is part of the prestigious SIOP Organizational Frontiers Series. She serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Applied Psychology, as a member of the SIOP Frontiers Series editorial board and has served on the editorial boards of Personnel Psychology and the Journal of Business and Psychology.

Ellingson will be recognized as an SIOP Fellow at the organization’s annual conference in National Harbor, Maryland, in early April.
