The Jack Lockton Certificate in Insurance and Risk Management prepares students for successful careers in insurance and risk management.     Business minors: In addition to completing the required business minor courses, electing the following two classes earns the certificate:

    • FIN 208: Principles of Insurance
    • FIN 324: Enterprise Risk Management (available starting spring 2024)

      Requirements for business majors

      • Requirements for business students to earn the certificate consist of two required courses and two elective courses for a total of 12 credit hours.

      Kansas Insurance Certificate

      • Students who earn the Jack Lockton Certificate in Insurance and Risk Management also earn the Kansas Insurance Certificate established by the Kansas Insurance Department and the Kansas Insurance & Financial Services Education Foundation.


      Certificate completion process

      1. Apply for the certificate in Enroll & Pay during the semester of the certificate's completion following these instructions (PDF).
      2. The School of Business then will verify the completion of certificate requirements.
      3. The certificate is issued subsequent to verification.
