Earn a KU MBA while specializing in a second discipline. Students interested in these programs must apply to both the School of Business and the other applicable school.

MBA curriculum

MBA/Master's in Business Analytics (MBA/MS-BSAN)

To further develop business and leadership skills, students can combine the master’s in business analytics program with the business school’s full-time MBA program, earning both degrees in just two years on the Lawrence campus.

MBA/Doctor of Medicine (MBA/MD)

The KU Schools of Medicine and Business offer a joint degree program that allows students to earn both their Doctor of Medicine and Master of Business Administration in five years. KU's MBA/MD joint degree program prepares doctors to meet the demand for management skills in the healthcare industry.

Students will enter a one-year cohort with other full-time MBA students on KU's Lawrence campus before they begin their first year, between years two and three or years three and four of medical school.

The purpose of this program is to prepare doctors to run their future practices with business efficacy and meet the demand for management skills in the healthcare industry.

There is a $10,000 scholarship that does not require a GMAT score guaranteed for MBA/MD students. Dual MBA/MD students who take the GMAT will be considered for all MBA scholarships. The MBA scholarships are offered on top of the MBA/MD scholarship.

MBA/Juris Doctor (MBA/J.D.)

The KU MBA/J.D. is a joint degree program between the KU Schools of Business and Law. The program brings together two existing degree programs and offers each in a joint capacity for a four-year program. This program is designed to offer students an opportunity to train in the convergent fields of law and business.

The dual MBA/J.D. program takes four years to complete: three years of law school curriculum and one year of MBA curriculum. Students will take a break from their law curriculum and join an MBA cohort for one full year.

MBA/Doctor of Pharmacy (MBA/Pharm.D.)

The KU MBA/Pharm.D. is a joint degree program between the KU Schools of Business and Pharmacy. The program brings together two existing degree programs and offers each in a joint capacity. All dual MBA/Pharm.D. students will engage in a health care-focused project that fulfills two APPE rotations. Working with an interprofessional team of your classmates, you provide solutions for Kansas health care organizations.

Health care-focused rotation

MBA/Pharm.D. students will join an MBA cohort in the fall during the sixth year of the Pharm.D. curriculum. Dual MBA/Pharm.D. students will complete a longitudinal health care-focused project that will satisfy two of nine required advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPEs). Dual MBA/Pharm.D. students will graduate at the end of August, extending their program length by only three months to earn both a Pharm.D.and an MBA from the University of Kansas.

MBA/Petroleum Management certificate (MBA/PM)

The MBA program with a graduate certificate in Petroleum Management from the School of Engineering is offered full time on the Lawrence campus. It meets the requirements of active-duty U.S. Naval Supply Corps officers who have been selected by the Navy 811 program.

MBA/Architecture (MBA/M.Arch)

The KU MBA/M.Arch program is designed for students intending to pursue management opportunities in architecture, development or construction. The MBA/M.Arch program requires four years of study, a year less than it would take to separately earn each degree. Upon completion of this dual degree program, you will earn an MBA from the School of Business and a master’s in architecture from the School of Architecture and Design.
