Biography

Ryan Rains is the Director of Entrepreneurship Co-Curricular Programs. He earned his Bachelor of Science in agricultural economics at the University of Kentucky, his master's in Christian education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently finishing his MBA at West Texas A&M University.  

Rains' career has been heavily influenced by building partnerships and creating mutual wins. Most recently, he served as the Director of Business Development and Programs at the Chamber of Lawrence and the Economic Development Corporation of Lawrence and Douglas County where he was a project manager for the City of Lawrence's first economic development strategic plan, and an active contributor to the Douglas County Community Health Plan to End Poverty. In these roles, he focused on aligning various strategic initiatives and resources to promote entrepreneurship and business growth and expansion, especially as it related to underrepresented entrepreneurs in Douglas County.  

As the Director of Entrepreneurship Co-Curricular Programs, Rains will be working with others to create experiential learning opportunities for students to engage with entrepreneurship.
