Minor in supply chain management

Program information

The growth in e-commerce has created a huge talent gap in the supply chain management career field.

The minor in supply chain management will enable business students to study the foundations of this career field and broaden their knowledge of supply chain management and the relationship of supply chain management to other aspects of business.

Required course

  • SCM 401: Introduction to Supply Chain Management

  • SCM 400: Special Topics in Supply Chain Management
  • SCM 402: Procurement and Supplier Management
  • SCM 403: Logistics, Transportation and Warehouse Management
  • SCM 404: Management of Integrated IS/ERP (not open to students with credit in IST 401)
  • SCM 410: Capstone in Supply Chain Management
  • SCM 415: Data Analysis and Forecasting (Not open to students with credit in BSAN 415)
  • SCM 416: Supply Chain Modeling and Optimization
  • SCM 418: Modeling and Risk Analysis (cross-listed with FIN 418; not open to students with FIN 422)
  • SCM 420: Customer Focused Operations Service Management
  • SCM 425: Customer Relationship Management (Cross-listed with MKTG 465 and BSAN 465)

 

The minor in supply chain management helps prepare business students who are not majoring in supply chain for careers in the field by exposing them to supply chain topics and beyond those discussed in SCM 310.

In addition, the minor will appear on transcripts, thus showing potential employers that the student has a working knowledge of supply chain management.
