Apply for APM enrollment

Enrollment in the Applied Portfolio Management course is by application only and is open to all students, regardless of background. The class is expected to run every semester.

APM course overview

Prior finance or accounting exposure is recommended, but motivation and interest to follow markets and learn outside of class and from group members are the only requirements. Successful alumni outside of the School of Business have joined APM.

Please note: APM courses will always be listed as "full" on Enroll & Pay due to the application requirement. We encourage you to contact us and apply if you are interested in the course, regardless of reported class status. The official course catalog listings are included below.

How to apply

  1. Complete and submit the APM application information survey.
  2. Download your KU Degree Progress Report.
  3. Email your Degree Progress Report, a resume and a cover letter explaining why you wish to join APM to apm@ku.edu.

For spring semester applicants

  • Priority will be given to applications received before fall break.

  • Applicants will be notified beginning in late October.

  • Applications will be accepted until the class is full.

For fall semester applicants

  • Priority will be given to applications received before spring break.
