What can the KU MBA do for you?
Overview
An MBA provides you operational, financial and managerial skills that lead to greater productivity, better career advancement and a higher salary. The 2025 Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) Corporate Recruiters Survey showed increased employer demand for graduate management degree holders, with more employers planning to hire than in 2024 and at least a quarter expecting to expand hiring.
Scholarships and student support
Many students can fund their graduate studies through merit-based scholarships from the KU School of Business.
- Merit-based scholarships typically range from $3,000 to $36,000.
- 90 percent of full-time MBA students with a competitive GMAT/GRE score will receive some type of financial aid.
- The priority deadline is Feb. 1, and we will review monthly until all funds are distributed.
- A 500-word essay is required when applying for scholarships, which is located in the application portal.
- KU undergraduates wishing to continue straight into the full-time MBA program may apply for the Self Memorial Scholarship.
- Recent KU undergraduates with 3.4 GPA and GMAT score of 535 can extend their merit scholarships into the MBA program.
Patterson Fellowship
Exceptional applicants may be selected to join the Patterson Fellowship. After Feb. 1, qualified candidates will be invited for interviews in April for selection into this prestigious program. Patterson Fellows will receive an additional $8,000 scholarship that will be awarded in addition to any other scholarships.
