KU School of Business ranks 40th among public programs in latest U.S. News & World Report rankings

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas moved up seven spots to No. 74 among public universities in this year’s U.S. News & World Report “Best Colleges” rankings, released today.

Other items of note from this year’s ranking include the following:

  • KU has four undergraduate programs ranked in the top 50 among publics: Nursing (No. 25), Psychology (No. 31), Business (No. 40) and Economics (No. 43).
  • KU’s undergraduate engineering ranking improved nine spots to No. 52 among publics.
  • The university is ranked No. 31 among publics in the Best Value Schools category.

KU ranked No. 81 among public universities in last year’s rankings.

“We recognize that some students and families look to these rankings when making their college decisions,” said Chancellor Douglas A. Girod. “That said, we remain focused on our own measures of success, which align with the Kansas Board of Regents’ strategic plan, the needs of Kansas businesses and communities, and our aspirations as one of the nation’s leading research institutions.”

U.S. News publishes its “Best Colleges” rankings each fall. These rankings are different from the annual graduate school rankings, which are published each spring. In the latest edition of the graduate school rankings, KU had 10 graduate programs in the top 10 and 48 programs in the top 50 among public universities.
