Bicknell Certificate in Personal Finance

Program information
Through six required courses, students will learn how to help individuals and families make sound financial decisions, prepare for retirement, manage risk and plan for the future. This certificate is open to KU Business students majoring in finance.
Students who pursue the Bicknell Certificate in Personal Finance gain:
- A strong foundation in personal finance planning: Develop a broad understand of retirement planning, taxation, estate planning, insurance, investment theory and regulatory environments.
- Preparation for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) exam: Completion of the certificate fulfills the educational requirements to sit for the CFP® exam after graduation.
- Access to a dynamic professional network and engagement opportunities: Connect with regional and national firms, KU alumni and student-led organizations to support growth and career development.

Bicknell Certificate in Personal Finance courses
Students who complete the following courses will satisfy the certificate requirements and will have the certificate noted on their degree transcript.
In addition to the below, BLAW 330 Estate Planning, which is not yet listed in KU's Schedule of Classes, will be required as part of the certificate.
