Minor in Entrepreneurship


Program information

Develop your entrepreneurial competency, build foundational entrepreneurship skills and deepen your entrepreneurship knowledge with coursework designed to foster a problem-solving mindset. The minor provides an in-depth exploration of the field of entrepreneurship.

The minor is a powerful pairing with any major and can be applied across all career paths. 

Changes to entrepreneurship minor

Requirements for the minor in entrepreneurship changed in fall 2023. The minor now is open to all undergraduate students at KU, regardless of major.

Minor requirements vary depending on when a student first enrolled at KU. To ensure you're viewing the correct requirements, select the link below that matches your enrollment term.

 

 

Questions about eligibility should be directed to your academic advisor.

Entrepreneurship minor students are not eligible for the certificate in entrepreneurship.


Requirements beginning fall 2025

Undergraduate students who enrolled at KU beginning fall 2025 are required to complete:

  • Three required courses (totaling nine credit hours)
  • Three elective courses (totaling nine credit hours)

Requirements beginning fall 2023

Undergraduate students who enrolled at KU beginning fall 2023 through spring 2025 are required to complete:

  • Six courses (totaling 18 credit hours)

Requirements before fall 2023

Undergraduate students who enrolled at KU before fall 2023 are required to complete:

Required courses

  • ENTR 410: Introduction to Entrepreneurship
  • ENTR 450: Advanced Entrepreneurship
  • ENTR 490: Social Entrepreneurship

Electives

Choose 2 from the following options:

  • ENTR 430: Corporate Entrepreneurship
  • ENTR 460: Fundamentals of Entrepreneurial Finance
  • ENTR 470: Entrepreneurial Marketing
  • ENTR 480 Management of Small Business

Declaring an entrepreneurship minor

Students who are in a non-business undergraduate program should use this School of Business Minor Declaration form to declare an intent to pursue a minor in entrepreneurship.

Business students should use this Change of Business Major or Minor form to change their minor to entrepreneurship.
