Change of business major or minor

Undergraduate students admitted to the School of Business can use this form to change a business major or minor. If you have a non-business major or minor declared, please contact the appropriate school to request changes. Do not use this form to request a change of school. If you have not been admitted to the School of Business, please to refer to the School of Business admission requirements for current KU students.

Course petitions

Course petitions are currently open for the summer and fall semesters. For more information, contact your academic advisor.

Transfer credit substitution request

Students may use this request form. Please note: Students are only able to use transferred business courses to fulfill degree requirements if they earned a grade of “C-“ or higher. Courses in which a student earned less than a “C-“ will not be considered.

Study abroad course approval process

  1. Consult with your academic advisor to identify which classes you can take abroad without hindering your degree progress.
  2. (Optional) Arrange a meeting with Global Business Studies or KU's Study Abroad & Global Engagement office to explore class options at your preferred destination. Generally, it is recommended to enroll in 12 credit hours abroad, but it’s beneficial to have more than 12 credit hours of options. Review currently or previously approved courses (not all available courses are listed).
  3. Begin the application process for your preferred program.
  4. Upon acceptance of your application, complete the electronic approval form.
    • For courses listed as "approved," specify the KU course it will transfer back as.
    • For courses listed as "prior equivalency" or not listed, you will be prompted to upload a syllabus link (or course description) and enter the departmental approver (
    • Click "submit" to begin the process. Your JayhawksAbroad application will be updated upon review.
