Lauren Cunningham serves as the communications director for the School of Business. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and, in 2018, completed her master's degree in digital content strategy from the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas. During her time as an undergraduate at KU, she studied news and information, focusing on writing and editing, and served as an intern with NBC Mobile and as a Dow Jones News Fund copy editing intern with The Kansas City Star.

She joined the School of Business staff as its communications coordinator after working as the communications specialist at the Washburn University Foundation. Before that, she was a copy editor at the Lawrence Journal-World.
