Junbeom (Jun) Park

Junbeom (Jun) Park is an Assistant Professor in the Management and Entrepreneurship academic area at the University of Kansas School of Business. He earned his doctorate in business administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, specializing in strategic management and organizational theory.

His research examines how organizations and their leaders navigate visibility, scrutiny, and stakeholder judgment. He is particularly interested in the strategic processes through which organizational actors shape the meaning of their actions and influence how consequential events are understood. His work explores the effects of media attention, impression management, and symbolic action on strategic behavior and organizational outcomes. Drawing on large-scale longitudinal data and quantitative and computational methods, he studies these dynamics in contexts including CEO self-promotion, corporate layoffs, technology startups, institutional ownership, and innovation.
