Biography

Kurt Krogull is a lecturer and the director of the Jack Lockton Certificate in Insurance and Risk Management Program at the University of Kansas School of Business. With a robust background in accounting and finance and a wealth of experience in the reinsurance industry, Krogull has dedicated his career to advancing the field of insurance while nurturing the next generation of industry leaders.

His professional journey began at KPMG where he served a variety of insurance clients, setting the stage for a 25-year career in the reinsurance sector. Throughout his tenure, Krogull has held senior controllership and financial reporting roles at companies such as Kemper Reinsurance, GE Re, Employers Reinsurance, and Swiss Re. His expertise in managing complex financial operations and executing large transactions has earned him a reputation as a knowledgeable and respected leader.

Krogull began his transition to academia in 2017, teaching corporate finance to business minors at the KU School of Business. His love of teaching and his subject-matter expertise led to a full-time appointment in 2020 to lead the Jack Lockton certificate program, which launched in 2019. In this capacity, Krogull's passion is raising student awareness of the vital role insurance plays in society and of the outstanding career opportunities the industry has to offer and equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to launch their careers.
