Biography

Michelle Thacker received a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in instructional technology from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. Thacker also has a minor in special education and endorsements in English, history, and family and consumer sciences.

After spending many years teaching family and consumer sciences at Hays High School, Thacker transitioned into a staff training position with a local nonprofit organization. Just before joining Jayhawk Academic Advising, Thacker was a nutrition educator with Kansas State University.

Volunteering is an important aspect of her life, and she spent seven years working with The Arc of the Central Plains thrift store in Hays. In her spare time, she loves to exercise, thrift shop, cook great meals, and enjoy moments with family.
