Ted Juhl

Ted Juhl is the O. Maurice Joy Professor of Finance and has taught at KU since 1999.

Juhl's research focuses on financial econometrics, time series analysis, and longitudinal data methods. He has collaborated extensively with scholars across accounting, economics, finance, and statistics. His commitment to teaching has been recognized through numerous honors, including the Jack and Anne Bowling Business Faculty Award, the William T. Kemper Teaching Fellowship, the Byron Shutz Teaching Award, and multiple Center for Teaching Excellence awards. 

Throughout his career, Juhl has provided extensive service to the university, profession, and state of Kansas. He has chaired numerous faculty search committees, advised graduate programs, and served on over 70 doctoral dissertations. Juhl has held several leadership roles at KU, including chair of the Department of Economics and director of the business school's Finance academic area. He also has contributed to the state through service on committees, including the Kansas Consensus Revenue Estimation Group, which provides state tax revenue forecasts, and the Kansas Board of Regents Retirement Plan Committee. 

Juhl earned his doctorate in economics, along with master's degrees in applied statistics and economics, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
