Will Ciconte

Will Ciconte is an assistant professor of accounting at the University of Kansas. He previously worked as an assistant professor of accountancy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Ciconte received his doctorate from the University of Florida. Before pursuing his doctorate, he worked as a tax senior in public accounting in the financial services group for PwC. Will’s research examines questions related to:

• The role of artificial intelligence in accounting and finance,
• The competitiveness of the audit market and implications for pricing and quality,
• How professionals allocate their time and its implications for firm performance,
• The impact of consultants on firms' operating and financial reporting quality,
• The usefulness of income tax accounting disclosures.

His work is published in the Journal of Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory.
