Biography —
Will Ciconte is an assistant professor of accounting at the University of Kansas. He previously worked as an assistant professor of accountancy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Ciconte received his doctorate from the University of Florida. Before pursuing his doctorate, he worked as a tax senior in public accounting in the financial services group for PwC. Will’s research examines questions related to:
- The role of artificial intelligence in accounting and finance,
- The competitiveness of the audit market and implications for pricing and quality,
- How professionals allocate their time and its implications for firm performance,
- The impact of consultants on firms' operating and financial reporting quality,
- The usefulness of income tax accounting disclosures.
His work is published in the Journal of Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory.
