Overview of courses

Business Honors courses at KU are designed to provide a rigorous, discussion-driven learning experience in small class settings.

Below is a list of commonly offered BHP courses, including core honors offerings and select advanced electives. Most courses are available in both fall and spring semesters, with a few exceptions:

  • Fall only: ACCT 323, ACCT 411, BSAN 311, FIN 411
  • Selective offering: FIN 421 (Honors version of FIN 420), based on instructor availability
  • Application required: FIN 450 (separate admission process

Class sizes are intentionally limited to approximately 25 students, allowing for meaningful engagement with faculty and peers.

How BHP course enrollment works

Because Business Honors courses have limited seats, some fill quickly. Students are encouraged to plan ahead and enroll early when possible.

If a required course is full and does not fit your schedule in a future semester, you may request an enrollment exception.

BHP enrollment petition process

Business Honors students can submit an enrollment petition using the form shared via program email each semester.
