These industry partners will provide experiential learning opportunities for students pursuing the certificate, participate in career-focused events and speaking engagements, and serve on a program advisory committee. The companies also will gain access to skilled graduates looking to start careers in the insurance industry.
“We’re honored to play an integral role in the new Jack Lockton Certificate program – it’s a wonderful opportunity for the students who will participate, and it equally offers incredible benefits for the companies like ours who are supporting it,” said Paul Quaranto Jr., chairman, CEO and president at Boston Mutual Life Insurance Co. “By helping provide a strong educational foundation for the students, we are extending our commitment to those we serve – which includes our policyholders, producer partners, employees and communities where we live and work – to include our investment in the future of the industry.”
The business school’s insurance and risk management certificate program was established by a $1 million gift from Cheryl Lockton Williams of Mission Hills. The gift honors her late husband, Jack Lockton, who founded the Kansas City, Missouri-based Lockton Companies. The program will launch in fall 2019.
“At Lockton, we are fortunate to enjoy terrific partnerships with our insurance and surety carriers. We want to sincerely thank all of our partners who generously are supporting the certificate program,” said Ron Lockton, president and CEO at Lockton Inc. “The program is a terrific way to honor my father’s memory and the significant contributions he and my mother have made to our industry and to our community.”
