LAWRENCE — Herman Cain will deliver the 50th Anniversary J.A. Vickers Sr. and Robert F. Vickers Sr. Memorial Lecture at 7 p.m. April 10 at Capitol Federal Hall.

The lecture is presented by the University of Kansas School of Business and will take place in the Dicus Family Auditorium, 1111 Capitol Federal Hall. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Cain has found success in business, broadcasting and as a voice on public policy. His leadership roles include serving as vice president of corporate systems for The Pillsbury Co., president of Godfather’s Pizza, and CEO and president of the National Restaurant Association.

Cain has served on the Economic Growth and Tax Reform Commission and as chairman and member of the board of directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Additionally, he was a senior adviser to the 1996 Dole/Kemp campaign for the presidency.

He sought the Republican nomination for president in 2011 and later resumed his position of CEO of The New Voice Inc. to expand its voice on public policy issues, working with political and business leaders at the national level to promote problem-solving ideas. Cain also hosted a syndicated radio show for five years and continues to appear regularly on Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network.

The Vickers Lecture Series was created in 1969 in honor of J.A. Vickers, KU alumnus and founder of Vickers Petroleum Co. in Wichita. His son, Robert, presided over the lecture until his death in 1995, when the series was renamed to honor both father and son.

Previous Vickers speakers include chairman and editor-in-chief of Forbes Media Steve Forbes, Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, Chief Justice John Roberts Jr. and former U.S. Sen. Robert Dole.
