Patterson Fellows Program

The Patterson Fellows Program is a merit-based scholarship for academically talented students incoming to KU’s full-time MBA and Master of Science in Business Analytics programs.

About the fellowship

This prestigious fellowship provides co-curricular leadership development programming and individualized professional preparation and support.

Made possible by a generous gift from KU alumni Bill and Carolyn Patterson, the Patterson Fellows Program launched in the KU School of Business during fall 2024. Six MBA and master’s in business analytics students were selected for the inaugural cohort of fellows based on their academic achievement and leadership potential.

Grow your leadership potential

Students selected to the fellowship receive:

  • $8,000 scholarship
  • In addition to career-building experiences in the MBA and master’s in business analytics programs, leadership development programming:
    • Individual coaching
    • Business case coaching
    • Alumni mentorship
    • Professional development support

Becoming a Patterson Fellow

Exceptional applicants to the full-time MBA and Master of Science in Business Analytics programs are eligible to join the Patterson Fellows Program. Qualified candidates are invited to an interview process for selection into the program.

Students chosen for the fellowship will display leadership, academic success, and a strong desire to create healthy communities and organizations. Patterson Fellows should demonstrate the following qualities:
